Doug Barron

When you think of a player being suspended for a drug policy violation, you don’t necessarily think of a professional golfer being one.  Doug Barron, tested postive for a banned substance.  Barron is the first to be suspended under the PGA drug policy.  Barron best finish was a third place tie at the 2006 Byron Nelson.  Under its policy, Barron will be suspended for one year.  The bottom line, the PGA Tour is going to suspend players, it owes it to those players' reputations and the fans to give full disclousure about what drugs were involved. Doing anything less simply means the PGA Tour isn't holding up its end of its responsibilities.
